Landscape, History and Genetics at the University of Melbourne in June

Melbourne University is currently decked out with these banners. If you switched ‘genetics’ for ‘relatedness’ then the banners could be promoting part of my PhD project, so I looked up the Festival of Ideas and found this

The search for an Australian identity in thought, literature, history, art and architecture, politics, foreign policy and education has been a positive element in Australian culture. The Festival will review how much the distinctive landscapes of Australia have shaped national identity, both in its bio-diversity and the brilliant way it has been imagined and depicted by artists from the ancient art of aboriginal culture to the present day.

The event is on the 13th-18th June at Melbourne University.

I was a little disappointed that everything seems to be focused at the nation state level (i.e. on Australia), but I still found a few events that I was interested in enough to register for (free) tickets.
