Linked In Social Inclusion Professionals

Linked In positions itself as a professional networking site. I was amused to find a link to a Linked In page of  ‘Social Inclusion Professionals’. Surely this is a great example of managerialism?

I can see a use for Linked In. I have been trying to contact somebody who wrote a thesis that is very relevant to my project. I was able to work out he went on to work at a peak body, but cannot find any details on him after that. The fact he has a common name makes general internet searches very difficult. If he was on ‘Linked In’, with an employment history and connections to other people who did their PhDs at Melbourne Uni at the same time as him, I would be able to identify him and get in contact.
